Daniel V. Zimmer, MD, FACS

Daniel V. Zimmer, MD, FACS is a board certified, fellowship trained cornea and refractive surgeon. Dr. Zimmer has spent many years performing refractive procedures that allow patients to decrease their dependence on glasses or contacts, and has provided traditional services, such as cataract surgery and corneal transplants. Dr. Zimmer received his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio and performed his internship at Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. He completed his residency training at Tulane Medical Center, specializing in ophthalmology, and was selected to perform his fellowship at the prestigious Wake Forest Medical Eye Center, specializing in cornea and refractive surgery. Dr. Zimmer has presented many lectures, authored various publications, and has provided an easily accessible approach to eye care by producing a patient educational video series.


Brian H. Jewart, MD

Brian H. Jewart, MD is a board certified, fellowship trained vitreo-retinal surgeon. He received his undergraduate education at the University of Maryland and his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh where he was the recipient of the Air Force Health Professions Scholarship. He performed his internship at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and his residency at St. Francis Medical Center where he was named chief resident. Dr. Jewart underwent his fellowship training at the prestigious Charles Retina Institute in Memphis, TN. In addition, he spent almost a decade in the United States Air Force, achieving Captain’s rank. He is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Diabetes Association and the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Jewart has authored and co-authored many publications and has given multiple presentations. He is also featured in patient educational videos and won national recognition for his video about diabetic retinopathy. He has also been a guest on various radio programs to educate patients. Dr. Jewart treats all medical and surgical diseases affecting the retina, including diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.


Lisa M. Cibik, MD, FACS

Lisa M. Cibik, MD, FACS is the Director of Cataract Services at Associates in Ophthalmology.  A board certified surgeon, Dr. Cibik is one of the top most productive cataract surgeons in the United States.  She received her undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University where she graduated with distinction.  She received her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.  Dr. Cibik performed her internship at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in internal medicine and her ophthalmology  residency at  Case Western Reserve University Hospitals.  Before practicing at Associates in Ophthalmology, Dr. Cibik was involved in private practice for ten years in the Washington, PA area.  She is extremely interested in the education of patients and other eye care professionals as she is involved in many patient education lectures and screenings.  Dr. Cibik has lectured nationally on advancements in cataract removal techniques and technology. Currently she is involved in the investigation of several new ophthalmic medications and devices. She is a member of many distinguished organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association,  American Medical Women’s Association, in addition to the Advanced Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.


Miguel A. Busquets, MD, FACS

Miguel A. Busquets, MD, FACS is a board certified, fellowship trained vitreo-retinal surgeon. He attended Harvard University, where he graduated magna cum laude, and Duke University Medical School, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Busquets performed a medical/surgical internship at Carilion Health System in Roanoke, Virginia. He completed an ophthalmology residency at Barnes Hospital /Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he also elected to complete a two-year fellowship in vitreo-retinal diseases and surgery. Dr. Busquets is actively involved in exciting research relating to retinal diseases and is a principal investigator in several national clinical trials. He is the author of numerous publications in this field and lectures on these topics at national and international conferences. At Associates in Ophthalmology, he treats all conditions affecting the retina, including retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. Dr. Busquets is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists.


John P. Nairn, MD

John P. Nairn, MD is a board certified, fellowship trained glaucoma specialist.  He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated with honors.  He received his medical degree, as well as his masters degree in Physiology, from Georgetown University.  Dr. Nairn returned to Pittsburgh for his residency in Ophthalmology at St. Francis Medical Center and completed his fellowship training in Glaucoma and Anterior Segment Surgery at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear infirmary of Harvard Medical School.  Prior to joining Associates in Ophthalmology, Dr. Nairn was in private practice for ten years in western Pennsylvania.  He is a member of many professional organizations, Including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, The American Medical Association, the Pittsburgh Ophthalmic Society, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology.  He has published numerous articles on Glaucoma Surgery and has Lectured extensively throughout the country on the subject.


Martin A. Boscarino, MD

Martin A. Boscarino, MD., is a board certified, fellowship trained vitreo-retinal surgeon. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from MCP-Hahnemann University School of Medicine. Dr. Boscarino performed his internship at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. He then completed an ophthalmology residency at Nassau University Medical Center/Stony Brook University where he was named chief resident. After residency, he underwent fellowship training at the National Retina Institute in Maryland. Dr. Boscarino is a member of many professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the American Society of Retina Specialists. He has been involved in numerous studies for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. He has authored publications and given numerous lectures. Dr. Boscarino treats all medical and surgical diseases affecting the retina including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal detachments and macular holes.


Donald C. Santora, MD

A native of Western Pennsylvania, Dr. Santora, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has performed over ten thousand refractive procedures. A graduate of Allegheny College and the Penn State University College of Medicine, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at St. Francis Medical Center and Allegheny General Hospital and was chief resident from 1994 to 1995. In 1998, Dr. Santora completed a fellowship in Refractive Surgery in Mendoza, Argentina, under the tutelage of Dr. Roberto Zaldivar, an international authority on refractive surgery. Dr. Santora is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the International Society of Refractive Surgeons and the Pennsylvania Academy o f Ophthalmology. Dr. Santora has published numerous papers in ophthalmology journals, and lectured on current topics in the field of Laser Vision Correction.
