    GLAUCOMA MEDICAL DEVICE STUDY

Our office is looking for people to participate in a glaucoma research study.

The CyPass Implant (made by Transcend Medical, Inc.) is an investigational device that is being studied to see if it will lower pressure in the eye. This study involves patients with glaucoma who will be having cataract surgery in the near future.

Eligible participants will be assigned by chance to one of two groups. Group 1 will receive the CyPass Implant in conjunction with their cataract surgery. Group 2 will have cataract surgery without the CyPass Implant and will have standard of care treatment for their glaucoma.

This study will involve 2 years of follow-up after completion of surgery. Compensation for time and effort may be available to study participants. If you are interested in learning more about this study, please contact Michelle Colwell at 412-653-3080 ext 1041 for more information.
